Kim brings a background in secondary education and youth science enrichment to the UEI team, having taught high school biology in Tallahassee, Florida prior to joining UEI. In addition to this, Kim has co-managed the summer Agriculture Urban Youth Program at The Trustees of Reservations’ Powisset Farm; taught for SciGirls Camp, a NSF funded program focusing on educating middle school girls about science; and assisted field biologists in various marine and coastal ecology research projects while completing her Master’s degree at Florida State University.
As the Educational Partners Program Manager, Kim is responsible for the external communication and coordination with teachers and administrators. Throughout the year, she develops and oversees UEI’s professional development opportunities for middle and high school teachers. As part of the Education team at UEI, Kim works closely with the Curriculum and Research Program Manager to ensure that UEI’s curriculum strands and professional development offerings match with the current needs of public school science teachers throughout the Boston area.
