Testimonials
“We’ve met around something that we all have started to care about. The diversity of the people who are involved is making it a neighborhood in a way that probably wouldn’t exist without it, because, what do we have to rally around? What do we have in common? What would bring us together otherwise? Some tragedy? So here we’re in the process of creating something beautiful and everybody has a chance to participate.”

- Cheo Solder, CityRoots Volunteer

Jonathan Strout
Sustainable Cities Program Associate
Phone: 617.552.0184

Jon’s love affair with the Earth began growing up in the wild of Maine. He received a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Sociology from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. An internship in college developing an initiative for solar power use in disaster relief informed his belief in the power of renewable energy to mitigate the effects of global climate change. After college, Jon spent five months backpacking around the world discovering the beauty of the Earth and its people. He is very excited to work with UEI in its efforts to create a livable, sustainable planet. In his spare time, he enjoys long walks on the beach, beautiful sunsets and ice cream.
