Testimonials
"I never thought I would be in the middle of a tern colony nor least expect to see chicks hatch, watch them grow and eventually fledge. I felt like a parent... because seeing them fledge is like sending your child out to college, meaning all the hard work was definitely worth it as you know you did your part by protecting the bird while it was still within your power."

- Edwin Roman Rivera

Phone :  617.552.0873

John received his Masters of Science in Environmental Monitoring from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997 and his Bachelor of Arts in Archaeological Sciences and Anthropology from Boston University in 1992. John arrived at UEI in November 2006 after a stint in the private sector working on image processing software development. He has spent over six years working in Latin America and the Caribbean region applying spatial technologies to natural resource management, natural hazard mapping, vulnerability assessment and risk analysis, municipal development and planning. He has worked for the United Nations Environment Programme, the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance, among others. He is pleased to be back in his hometown applying these technologies to more familiar (albeit much colder) places.
