Testimonials
“Getting kids outside, in their environment, helping them to be able to actually name stuff and to be able to do water quality testing- that really having a sense of owning a place and taking care of a place has been really important for my students.”

- Deborah Jose, Teacher, Newton High School

Greentimes

Greentimes became a part of UEI in May 2006 when the Global Habitat Project, another Boston-area non-profit, merged with UEI. For the past 15 years, Greentimes has worked closely with high school students in Boston. The program guides up to 50 students each year in the creation process of four editions each of Greentimes and Greentimes JR.

We invite teachers to order free By Kids, For Kids materials at the Greentimes Program website.

Students from all over the world are also invited to email in their own written work. We have a whole section of the website devoted to guest writers! If you are interested in joining the program, check out the website for more details.

Other special program events are an Annual Greentimes Essay Contest for students who read Greentimes and a translation project where we post teen-written articles in English, French, Arabic, and soon Spanish!
